Description

This track producer agreement (no royalties/no song rights) is a contract used by music recording producers in the hip-hop, rap, and pop markets when they contract with a record label. The producer creates a recorded music track for the singer/rapper to sing or rap over and may produce the singer/rapper's recording on the music track that the producer has recorded. This agreement outlines the terms under which the record label will own the recording as a work made for hire and the artist or another songwriter will hold the rights to the song. This contract is used if the producer has not contributed to the writing of the song in the case where the artist (or another songwriter) wrote both the music and the lyrics or if the producer creates a music track of a cover. The producer receives a fee for creating the recording but will not receive any separate royalties on the sale of the recording embodying the music track.
